Principal Server Architect
As principal server architect, John leads Affinegy’s CHARIOT ACS and server software development team. An expert in scaled, secure and high performance server software implementations, he has designed and implemented multiple high availability, horizontally scaled implementations of CHARIOT with failover safeguards. John has been a pioneer in the development of secure, remote network management with the Broadband Forum’s TR-069 standards.
John oversees Affinegy’s server software team with vision and careful attention to detail. He has driven the advancement of CHARIOT toward RESTful API interfaces that enable CHARIOT to seamlessly plug into partner offerings. John initiated the use of Groovy scripts to allow Affinegy customers and partners to get the maximum benefit out of CHARIOT. These scripts power non-compile optimizations and special operations of the CHARIOT Platform.
John has a strong background in the telecommunications industry, with work experience in Class 5 telephone switches, DSLAMs, residential gateways, FTTP products and software management systems. He joined the Affinegy team in 2012, but he has been working with Affinegy’s CHARIOT ACS product since 2005: first with Siemens, and through its acquisitions by Sagemcom, then with Affinegy in 2012.
John has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Central Florida.
